Our method of teaching math is an initiative towards more proficient grade level math principles and concepts. The FASCA method, often identified as “visual math,” closely follows the Singapore Math method. Singapore Math is based on the national math system of Singapore and promotes a deeper understanding of numbers and math concepts. According to national media, students in Singapore have repeatedly ranked at or near the top on international math exams since the mid-1990s.

FASCA’s visual math, modeled after Singapore Math, features the concrete to pictorial to representational approach. “Students begin by learning through concrete and pictorial means before moving into abstract thought and development, which encourages active thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas and problem solving.”

This method is recommended for those who want a solid, basic math program with a proven track record and an emphasis on concept development, mental techniques, and problem solving. We use a set of textbooks and workbooks that are designed specifically for U.S. students. Names, terms in examples, measurements, spellings, currency and other such elements have been changed to reflect American stylistic preferences.

Mathematics Grades: Rising K - 12th Grades - MATH CLASSES ARE UP TO 50-MINUTES LONG. Students receive one-on-one instructions from our tutors - Date & Time: Mondays 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesdays thru Fridays 4:00- 7:00 P.M. Saturdays 10:00 - 12:00 & Sundays 12:00 - 2:00. Choose any two days in a single week that fits your schedule.

Mathematics Assessment Tests
Few other math programs focus on building and understanding of fundamental math concepts. We teach a proven method that helps your children undersatnd math by learning the reasoning behind math concepts. We begin by assessing your child's level of comfort with math concepts based on their grade level. From this small test we are able to more accurately understand where your child may need improvement. Our program is tailored to the Virginia SOL and we will work with your child to help their score. For a student to move on to more advanced concepts in math, physics, and science, understanding the basic concepts is absolutely critical. The basis of our math programs is consistency and practice. We will review math concepts with our students and assist them in practicing the concepts through related class work and optional home work.
